DJI Osmo Pocket with LoPro Phone Mount

Creating a high-quality, professional video can be a daunting task but with the new DJI Osmo Pocket and a key piece of gear from Tether Tools, it’s easier than ever. Pictured above is the DJI Osmo Pocket, paired with the LoPro Rock Solid LoPro Phone Mount, attached to a tripod. Lightweight, but powerful the camera that sits on the three-axis gimbal uses a 1/2.3-inch sensor and can capture 4K footage at up to 60 frames per second at 100Mbps. DJI says the Osmo Pocket will last for up to two hours shooting in 4K at a slightly lower frame rate of 30 fps. The Osmo Pocket also captures 12-megapixel photos, and it has dual microphones for recording audio. There’s a tiny one-inch touchscreen on the Osmo Pocket where users can frame their shot or toggle through settings. We recommend that users plug their phone into a modular port on the side of the Osmo Pocket for a bigger viewing screen and more granular controls, using the company’s new app – DJI Mimo.

Adding the Osmo Pocket to your tripod is made easy with the LoPro Phone Mount.

1. Connect the Osmo Pocket to your smartphone with an included cable
2. Secure the universal, adjustable LoPro Phone Mount to your phone
3. Add a tripod plate to one of three 1/4-20” threads on the LoPro Phone Mount and secure to your tripod

Note, the LoPro Phone Mount will work with any grip gear that includes a male 1/4-20” thread such as the Rock Solid EasyGrip.

Osmo Pocket with DJI Mimo Phone App

DJI Mimo unlocks the full potential of Osmo Pocket by granting users total control of gimbal movements and camera parameters while enjoying an HD live view of the camera. The app also includes overexposure alerts and histograms, helping you ensure picture quality while making incredible moments. DJI Mimo gives you two options to access your recorded media. You can remove the microSD card from the gimbal and transfer the files to your computer, as well as import it all through the app. Download photos and video to your mobile device, then edit and manage them all in DJI Mimo. A video is a great value-add proposition for your clients (and their marketing team) and something that more and more commercial clients are asking for as part of the shoot. If a second shooter isn’t an option, and you’re just wanting to dip your toe into creating a video, using an Osmo Pocket with the LoPro Phone Mount is a wonderful way to get started. If you’re looking to create BTS video, here’s a couple things to keep in mind. Music. There are websites and services such as Triple Scoop Music that sell royalty free music at affordable prices. Choose a song that fits the tone of the video. Graphics. Don’t forget to include your logo and credit your model, make-up artist, and assistants. Still Images. You’ll want to include the final images from the shoot in the video, usually at the end, to show off your work.
