Your Air Direct has arrived and eager to get started. So, let’s get to it! Open the box!
Important: When unboxing your Air Direct, you’ll first see the Air Direct, a TT-LP-E6/N Battery, and a First Time Use! Alert. You will need to read the First Time Use instructions and download the Air Direct Utility (ADU) to the computer(s) you plan to connect tether by going to www.tethertools.com/adu.
Take the Air Direct and the battery out of the box. Securely stored underneath you’ll find the camera connector cables, a battery charger, charging cable, DC power cable, and the Quick Start User Guide.
Let’s start with power.
The Air Direct is powered one of two ways: the supplied battery, TT-LP-E6/N, a commonly found camera battery that you may already own, or with the supplied DC Power Cable. You can use the battery AND the DC Power Cable; this allows you to power the Air Direct AND hot swap the batteries. Note: It will not charge the battery when connected to the Air Direct.
Begin to charge up the battery while we continue setting up the Air Direct. You can use the supplied battery charger, or you may already own LP-E6 battery charger.
Let’s connect the Air Direct to your camera.
The easiest place is to secure it to your camera via the camera’s hot shoe. We understand that this may not be suitable in all situations. Another solution is to use an L-Bracket for your camera plus our new ARCA Clamp. A third option could be to use the female ¼ 20 in the hot shoe connector to an Adapter Spigot and connect to the camera’s ¼ 20.
