A few months back we included an announcement in our newsletter that Tether Tools was in the final stages of the manufacturing process on USB-C cables. We’re thrilled to announce that the USB-C cables are on the way and we’re expecting to have them in stock and ready to ship in early January.

Tether Tools will offer USB-C to USB-C cables, and USB-C to USB-A cables for those using USB-C Cameras, such as Hasselblad H6, m X-series, Panasonic GH5, Sony a7R III and other new cameras on the market.

For photographers who have USB 2.0 and 3.0 cameras and have upgraded to USB-C computers, TetherPro USB-C to each existing camera port type will also be available.  And to serve those who would like to simply extend an existing cable to USB-C computer, a 15-foot USB-C to USB-A adapter joins the TetherPro solutions line.

The TetherPro USB-C cable product line features 12 cables, all available in either black or high-visibility orange and specially designed for tethered photography and image transfer. TetherPro USB-C cables are constructed to the highest possible USB specifications and incorporate all the latest technology ensuring consistent and reliable conductivity, and the fastest and most reliable transfers.  TetherPro USB-C Cables are intended for data transfer and will not support powering USB-C devices at long distances.

If you’ve been waiting and want to be notified as soon as these cables are available for order, visit tethertools.com/usbc and enter your email to receive a notification as soon as they’re available on our site.

New York-based photographer Evan Guttman, armed with a Sony a7R III and the brand-new TetherPro USB-C cable did a real-world tethered shoot to a Microsoft Surface Book 2 running Capture One Pro 11. Watch this video and see the new TetherPro USB-C cable in action below.
