I just connected my Case Air Wireless Tethering System to my camera and I have a Firmware Update.

What should I do? What is firmware? Wikipedia defines Firmware as: “A specific class of computer software that provides the low-level control for the device’s specific hardware. Firmware provides a standardized operating environment for the device’s more complex software. Typical examples of devices containing firmware are embedded systems, consumer appliances, computers, computer peripherals, and others.” – Wikipedia In other words – the firmware is the operating system in the Case Air. First, we need to make sure the Case Air is powered up. You will want to charge up your Case Air prior to connecting it to your camera every time, so when you plug in your Case Air and if you get a notification of a firmware update you’ll be ready to run the update.  Your Case Air came with five cables, one is a USB charging cable, please connect it to a USB wall adapter for efficient charging. The Case Air has an internal Lithium battery that needs periodic charging even when you are not using it. The Case Air must not be turned off or run out of battery while it is updating – turning it off while updating will break it and it will not be able to be reset or repaired. Featured here is the Firmware update on iOS, images from an iPhone 6S. If a firmware update is available, you will first see an Attention notice. Before you Confirm – have you charged up your Case Air?  Yes? Okay, great! When you are ready, tap Confirm. This initiates the update and the countdown begins. You are alerted that turning off the Case Air during the update will break the Case Air and it cannot reset nor be repaired. Allow the update to countdown. You’ll receive an announcement when it has completed. Tap Exit.  It will close the app, be sure to check (on an iOS device) by double tapping the home button and swipe up to close the app – on an iOS device, double tap the home button and swipe up. Reconnect to the Case Remote WiFi. Open the Case Remote app. If the app doesn’t see the camera, refresh. You can turn the camera off, then on, to resend a signal to the app. Now that you’re reconnected, you’re good to go! You can also check if there is an update available, by going to Settings and tapping Update.
