As the current COVID-19 pandemic continues to be part of our daily lives, we have seen a record number of furloughs and layoffs that have affected many across the country. For many, this means searching for new job opportunities through networking and LinkedIn. Here at Tether Tools, we understand that high quality photos and having a having a professional headshot helps with marketability on these networks. It also helps to bring back the confidence in job searching for many who are newly unemployed.

Initiated and led by Headshot Booker, 10,000 Headshots will be providing free complimentary headshots nationwide on Wednesday, July 22 from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (local times) and are open to anyone who is currently unemployed. More than 200 photographers will participate across all 50 states, creating pop-up studios at Brookfield Properties retail locations to take the headshots.

10,000 Headshots was created by Headshot Booker’s co-founder Tony Taafe, along with the help of portrait photographer Peter Hurley, national event photographer Lauren Lieberman and developer Joseph Pelosi. Taafe was inspired to create such an event due to the struggles he witnessed his father experience when he was unemployed. “My dad was the hardest working person I ever met. He was in construction, so the work wasn’t consistent and he had almost zero job security. Unemployment impacts everyone and everything associated with that person,” Taafe stated.

Headshot Booker is the premier agency committed to uniting corporations with accredited headshot photographers around the world.

“Headshot Booker is in a unique position to provide out-of-work Americans with an important element of the job search process – a great, professional headshot. And thanks to our partners who share a similar vision, we will be able to help thousands of unemployed Americans put their best foot forward and help them get back to work,” Taafe explained.

Headshot Booker and Tether Tools have partnered up to ensure that all participating photographers be tethered to support contactless processes and ensure immediate photo deliveries to each recipient of these headshots. In addition, Tether Tools is working with other event organizers involved in order to provide the right kind of equipment to support their tethered workflow—making sure that we are adhering to safety precautions during this unprecedented time.

Headshot Booker has also teamed with retail real estate giant Brookfield Properties to utilize its shopping centers around the country as locations for these photoshoots. In addition, SpotMyPhotos, Canon USA, and PhotoFlashDrive will support this one-of-a-kind event.
